Geek Errant Recommends: Rollerdrome
Rollerdrome is a great example of a game that can push me just enough out of my comfort zone that I start appreciating a genre I previously couldn’t.

Gang Beasts is a comedy focused physics driven arena brawler game. It’s also one of the best local multiplayer games that you can play with friends.
The Unbelievable Gwenpool is the third in the Marvel Un-trilogy, sharing a prefix with The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and The Unstoppable Wasp. Each book was a new and interesting take on a female character in the Marvel comics universe. For Gwenpool, that’s playing with the idea of comics and comic conventions, and what they mean to the people who read them.
Supermassive Games did something truly special with Until Dawn. They made a game that encapsulates horror films, and the potential of being inside one.
Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons is one of the most wonderfully clever games I’ve ever played. There’s no hyperbole in that. This is an understated adventure puzzle game that uses gameplay for narrative purposes in the best way.
Co-operative games are great. I adore working as a team to solve problems and experience stories in games. Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator takes cooperative gameplay to a whole new level of role playing and fun.
Stellaris is a deeply engrossing experience. It’s a member of the 4X genre (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit,eXterminate) of strategy games from Paradox Interactive but with a real focus on story telling through the strategic gameplay and emerging narratives.
Life is Strange: Before the Storm is a fascinating adventure game that navigates themes of Grief, Teenage Friendship and finding your place in a changing world, all with the signature charm and attitude that’s come to be known of Life is Strange.
Rust is an online only, always active survival game where your player character is random and fixed and the world is full of other players who want to ruin your day. Yet it’s a game that I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into, and it is fascinating to play.
Stories are great. Not all stories get the audience they deserve though. Every week, Geek Errant is going to pick one Book, Game, TV Series or Film and give it the spotlight. Some of these will be very niche, something that only a few people will ever care about. But that’s why they matter. Everyone deserves to get their story heard. This week, LoadingReadyRun’s Qwerpline Radio Comedy is what’s recommended.
