Overwatch ‘s Big Summer Blowout

Blizzard today revealed a couple of new features for Overwatch that will be rolling out across PC, PS4 and Xbone today.

Running alongside promotions for the Summer Olympic games, A new weekly gamemode, Lucioball has been unveiled. In the game, players try to score goals using Lucio’s Push attack to shift a physics based football around.

The big deal as far as most people are concerned though is in the new Summer Games Lootboxes. Costing exactly the same as the previous Lootboxes, and starting at £1.59 for two, there are 90 new Summer Games themed items to collect. Of which three are sports based skins for Tracer, Lucio and Zarya, and the rest are sports themed assortments of Voiceclips, Sprays, Highlight Intros, Icons or Emotes. Blizzard are giving away the first Lootbox free to each player that logs in, to guarantee at least one item per person.

However, the new boxes only guarantee one of these Summer Games items in each one.
And there are Ninety Items. Plus the potential for duplicates as this uses the same credit system for rarity and repeat items. So with my free one, I acquired a delightful Pharah Slam dunking spray, and then not much else of note.

While I’m not opposed to event based items like this, I would appreciate if Blizzard would just provide the opportunity to buy the specific things I want from the set. Without the hassle of buying twenty lootboxes.

Just let me have the Zarya Skin. It can’t be any worse than Cybergoth.
