With Doctor Strange out of the way and the Sony/Marvel Spiderman movie apparently getting a trailer alongside Rogue One’s release, time for the Guardians of the Galaxy to show off what they’ve got. And it is adorable.
Not content with the twelve mythical Pokemon being distributed throughout the year, to coincide with the release of the new feature length movie, Volcanion is being released for the main games series as well.
The week starting September 25th has a whole host of FOX based comedies coming back, then the annualised games releases continue with Forza and FIFA. Some anticipated indie games like Clustertruck and Serial Cleaner give the scene a bit of Variety, whilst in Film, fictionalised biopics and weird comedy are there to round off the week.
Virginia begins by telling the player that the events of the game have been compiled from notes and case files to create the play they are about to experience. Like a play or film, the game lends itself to a variety of interpretations, a situation which the game wildly encourages. Virginia is one of the most blatant attempts by a developer to blend cinematic techniques and games conventions. To the credit of 505 Games and Variable State, they have definitely hit the mark.
Moana is Disney’s latest animated feature, this time moving away from traditional western fairy tales and legends, and going somewhere a little warmer.
Loads coming up this week, though a surprising amount of the games coming up are remasters & remakes. In terms of movies, the reign of Horror continues, as we get closer to October. Plus, as the autumn returns, so to do the TV shows.
Time for another round up of films, games and anything else that catches my eye, starting from Sunday 4th September.
The DC cinematic universe isn’t saved yet. Suicide Squad is better than Batman V Superman, sure. But not a whole lot better. It’s a character piece first and foremost, with some very well acted characters. Just a shame the script and production don’t match up.
The week beginning Sunday 21st August is an incredibly busy one! So lets take this one thing at a time and see what we have in store!
