Nintendo Switch First Party titles are going to be the main draw for the new gaming system. So what did last night’s presentation bring from Nintendo themselves?
As the year of events marking the 20th anniversary of Pokemon comes to a close, it only seems logical to look to the future of the franchise. If Pokemon Sun & Moon are the future, then this series is heading in a very positive direction. Maybe you haven’t played a Pokemon game other than Go for a long time, these are the games for you. Even if you were already a fan, then these are the mechanically and narratively the best the series has had to offer in a while.
Nintendo seem to have learned their lesson from the announcement of the WiiU. Where that announcement was a bloated, feature filled exercise in justifying its own existence, and the Console suffered from a confusing brand name that didn’t help. The Switch looks different. The Switch is Different.
Not content with the twelve mythical Pokemon being distributed throughout the year, to coincide with the release of the new feature length movie, Volcanion is being released for the main games series as well.
The week starting September 25th has a whole host of FOX based comedies coming back, then the annualised games releases continue with Forza and FIFA. Some anticipated indie games like Clustertruck and Serial Cleaner give the scene a bit of Variety, whilst in Film, fictionalised biopics and weird comedy are there to round off the week.
A surprise announcement last week had Pokemon fans caught off guard, as the Pokemon Company announced the creation of a new online series of animated shorts set within the main game series canon. Today, episodes one and two released, the first of a series that will be running weekly till December 23rd. How does the series stack up now episode one and two have been released?
In rather stunning news, the Apple Conference today contained some honest to goodness Gaming Surprises. Shigeru Miyamoto took to the stage with Tim Cook to announce Super Mario Run.
Well, Pokemon Sun and Moon for Nintendo 3DS seem to be growing even more interesting as time goes on. The latest trailer has a whole host of potentially innovative and fascinating announcements, with many suggesting that this game will be the most heavily story focussed Pokemon Game in a while. Plus, the return of a fan favourite feature!
