Autumn Nintendo 3DS Roundup
Pokémon Sun and Moon kick things off, with new announcements including the reveal of Alolan Rattatta (Dark/Normal), who have adapted to avoid being hunted by Yungoos. So actual natural selection in a Pokémon game.

Another month begins and another Mythical Pokemon is yours for the taking. Check out the Mystery Gift option on Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire as well as Pokemon X and Y to receive Victini. No walking required for this one.
A Pokemon God though. The Pokemon Company continue their distribution of mythical level Legendary Pokemon to celebrate the series anniversary.
As of today, Nintendo has announced a Mini NES micro console, releasing on November 11th and coming bundled with 30 games and a controller. America has a price of around $60, so barring the pound falling any further, I’d have wagered a £40-50 price tag.
Pokémon in the real world. The dream since 1998. This app is so close to being that. And yet also so very far away. Pokémon Go is an app for IOS and Android phones. Developed in Co-operation with Niantic, the game uses their experience with Geo-Caching (placing marks on a real map to interact with gameplay) in order to simulate the experience of travelling and catching Pokémon. The game is not a replication of the mechanics of the handheld games, instead choosing thematic and simplified versions of the systems to work for this much larger, multi-player and publicly accessible game. All of the following times are UK. As is my tradition, recaps and reactions are going to be going up shortly after each one is completed.
Directly to you. Through me. So shall we try that again? No Pokemon to steal the show this time. Nintendo Direct for the 3rd of March 2016, covering all the games of spring and summer. Presumably this will be taking us right up to E3 and the NX announcement. Speaking of which, no news here. They’re holding off on that, even more so than expected. This does mean that if we don’t hear too much about Zelda WiiU here, I’ll be putting more faith in those rumours about the NX and the double platform launch.
So today, 26th February, Nintendo will be gracing us with the second Nintendo Direct of the year. As the first focussed only on Smash Bros, the second will similarly be an all Pokemon agenda. So what can we expect?
Smash has already been covered, won’t be here. Roy, Ryu, Lucas, Miiverse stage, Dreamland and Ryu’s Stage, plus the promises of Original Smash’s Hyrule Castle and Peach’s Castle. Plus Mii Costumes from splatoon, megaman, Retro studio is teasing something with “can you dig it?” This is almost certainly not metroid. Calm yourselves people and assume we’re seeing more Donkey Kong On the amiibo front, Animal crossing, 8 bit Mario, amiibo cards, leaked from Nintendo Spain. Platinum are teasing something big, and possibly for wiiU, maybe bayo3 or Wonderful 102. Earthbound beginnings. Mother as a virtual console game for western release. Already out. NWC reveal. Blastball, 3DS sports title, 3v3 mecha soccer style game. Unveiled at NWC Mario Maker now Super Mario Maker, Unveiled at NWC We’re overdue for a pokemon announcement, more mario kart DLC seems likely. Star fox news seems likely here Iwata not showing up, no new hardware to show.
